This section catches the projects that fall into the transfer case,
transmission, and engine categories. Some folks are just natural gear
heads and digging into an engine is something they really enjoy. The TJ
engine is not well known for one that is easily modified in order to squeeze out
a bit more horsepower. However, Jeeps are not race cars and the engine
they come with is quite capable of taking you to the places where Jeeps should
be going (and that is NOT the mall).

Torque is your friend. If you want more of it while you're out on that ol' dusty trail, you'll need to coax it out of the engine with some performance jeep parts. For more noise and power, jeep headers and jeep exhaust systems will help relieve back pressure at the manifold, letting the engine breath easier. A jeep air intake will free up even more power. Upgrade that fuel pump, swap out those old spark plugs and throw on a new air filter to make sure your engine is burning everything you're feeding it. |
