Aside from having some kind of aircraft to fly, your radio and other associated electronics equipment is just as essential to the R/C hobby. At a minimum, you'll need a R/C transmitter and a receiver. Electronic servos, controlled by the receiver or a flight controller, are used to move the control surfaces on the aircaft. It's what allows you to turn and change the alltitude of the aircraft. Many aircraft carry very small cameras to record the flight for later viewing while other aircraft transmit live-time flight video back to the pilot. If your aircraft uses an electric power system, it will also have one or more electric motors and electronic speed controllers to change motor speed. It is indeed a hobby that marry the aircraft building hobby to the electronics setup hobby.
